You have to be in it to win it!

There are five weeks to go until the deadline for applying to enter this year’s Chy Noweth Show (which is replacing the cancelled Royal Cornwall Show).

The schedule for the WI Competition, this year organised by the Environment & Public Affairs sub-committee, is as follows:

WIs are invited to create a staged exhibit reflecting the theme, using their skills and imagination, which must include the following:

  2. A floral arrangement using bee-friendly locally grown flowers and foliage without the use of Oasis/ floristry foam and plastic free. (20marks)
  3. A piece of prose not more than 300 words of five ideas on Renewing Enchanted Cornwall. The prose to be mounted for display at the show (which can be decorated) but a non mounted text only copy to be submitted in advance (no later than 31 July) for prior judging. (20 marks)
  4. A wall hanging using recycled materials- any medium. This needs to be removable for judging, so not a backdrop please. (20 marks)
  5. A decorated keepsake box made from recycled or salvaged material. Any medium. (20 marks)

In addition, there are two Flower Arranging competitions open to members:

  1. An arrangement on a tablespoon
  2. An arrangement in an egg cup

The deadline to send in your application forms is Friday 25 June 2021. Please find application forms for both the WI Competition and the Flower Arranging classes here.
