A Great Project for WI Knitters

Here’s a fun and worthwhile project for WI members – or perhaps entire WIs – to get stuck into over the long, cold winter evenings.

We have had a message from the woman who manages the team of breast feeding specialist nurses, who are part of the health visiting service in Cornwall. The team works with new mothers and children.

At the moment, they are in desperate need of knitted breasts to help with demonstrations of correct positioning and attachment to the nursing mothers.

The team is looking for an army of skilled knitters who might be able to help knit some knitted breasts. All in all, about 100 knitted breasts are needed.

The pattern to follow can be downloaded here.

Once your knitted breasts are completed, the team can arrange for collection. Just contact Michelle Cole on michelle.cole@cornwall.gov.uk or Ruth Frowmow on ruth.fromow@cornwall.gov.uk.
