Another Successful ‘Girls’ Day in’

Members showing of their beautiful fingernails

We all know what a Girls’ Night Out is, but how about a Girls’ Day In? This event was so successful last year, that it was held again this year!

Organised by our Activity and Leisure sub-committee, 62 members enjoyed a morning of relaxation and exercise on Friday.

Groups of enthusiastic ladies had fun with Dawn Rowe, who guided them through 45 minutes of exercise routines to music, plus some stretching and muscle toning exercises that could easily be done at home. Claire Greenwood, now a familiar face with many of our members, led a question and answer session relating to colour and the correct ways to wear and enhance an outfit. Finally, Hannah Darling, beauty consultant, expertly discussed ways to look after our skin, including facial skincare and the correct products treatments to use, plus answering the many questions that we always seem to have.

An al fresco lunch on a sunny day

It was such a beautiful day that many people decided to picnic outside in the sunshine!

After lunch, students from Truro College invited our ladies to a free nail treatment. Hopefully there was somewhere to go in the evening to show off those glamorous looks!

Thank you everyone for your enthusiasm.

  1. My friend Judy and I had such a fun time on Friday. We can’t wait for the next session. It is lovely to be able to meet other WI ladies from groups that we wouldn’t get to visit due to the distance in travel, Cornwall being such a long county. We were made to feel so welcome and included in all that was going on.

The food was lovely too, such hard work for you all.

    • We’re so glad you enjoyed it, Sandy. You’re right – Cornwall’s shape doesn’t always make it easy for us to get together.
