Coads Green WI Member Reaches Goal after 33 Years!

Coads Green WI member, Geraldine Rennie, and her husband Andy climbed Ben Nevis 33 years ago, after completing the West Highland Way. The pair then started to climb more of the Munros, 282 Scottish mountains over 3000 feet, on different holidays, but never intended to climb them all.

In their retirement, with more time on their hands, they decided to climb as many of the Munros as possible, and this month, helped by a guide, they eventually achieved their goal on the Cuillin ridge on Skye. The couple’s last mountains were the Inaccessible Pinnacle and Sgurr Mhic Choinnich. Geraldine says, “It was quite possibly some of the most rewarding and challenging walking that I have ever done.”

She now looks forward to some downtime, which will include making sausage rolls for the Launceston Show, starting a quilt and supporting the Street Pastors with her fellow Coads Green WI members.
