Easter Crafting in Mawnan

Mawnan WI has been keeping in touch with its members and looking at ways to keep members’ spirits up. An Easter craft workshop had been scheduled prior to Covid-19 and, with everyone isolating at home, the WI decided that they would just do it from their homes!

The workshop leader forwarded some ideas and the challenge was issued to make something and send a photo of it. There were quite a lot of members who were there in spirit, but had all manner of excuses from “I’m erecting a metal shed” to “I’m power hosing the outside of the house”! There were those who were finishing off sewing projects, the knitters completing jumpers and the off piste cooks. Unsurprisingly the good weather had beckoned many into the garden, weeding and planting seeds. However, the true participants produced a range of items including Easter cards and bunny bunting.

How is your WI carrying on during the pandemic? Are you coming up with innovative ways of keeping members connected? We’d love to hear from you! Send your stories to cfwi.publications@gmail.com.
