To celebrate CFWI’s 100 years, Perranarworthal WI members set themselves several 100 challenges. The first in May saw members generously donating well over 100 packets and tins to a local food bank.
As WI members plant up and maintain numerous “corners” and containers around their village, the June challenge was to provide 100 plants for the WI village gardeners. Many more than 100 plants are now ensuring that there is always a colourful welcome in the public spaces.
At each month’s meeting, there is a book and magazine stall where members can donate or swap books that they have finished with, so a challenge was set to appeal to those who enjoy reading. For July members were asked to enter a writing competition to produce a book review or a diary entry using no fewer than 100 words, but no more than 200. The winners from each category will be announced at the September meeting.
