The Mermaids Try Bell Ringing

Mylor and Flushing WI, the Mermaids, were very generously loaned a set of Whitechapel handbells from Truro WI. Some of the fledgling ringers have never played any musical instrument before and several don’t read music so the members play from a grid system of numbers. Making music for the first time ever has been quite a revelation and gives an enormous sense of achievement when having played Love Me Tender or Strawberry Fair for the first time. The Mermaids are very grateful to Truro WI for this opportunity of making music.
