At their September meeting, Wilcove WI finalised a collection of items from members to support women in the UK and in Africa via two charities – Smalls for All and Give & Makeup.
Smalls for All is a charity that collects bras and underwear to send to various African countries. Women who wear bras are seen as wealthy and far less likely to be subjected to sexual attacks.
Give and Makeup is a UK charity based in Edinburgh that collects make up and various other feminine supplies to give to women who have left their homes suddenly due to domestic violence. These women are often in refuges with little to call their own.
Well done to the women of Wilcove for supporting such worthwhile causes.
