Stephney Hornblow (a member of the WI in Staffordshire for many years) and her son, Jono, are cycling from John O’Groats to Land’s End on a tandem, starting in John O’Groats on the 23rd September, and planning to arrive at Land’s End two weeks later.
Liz Dominey and Bobbie White are the ‘roadies’, driving the support vehicle with first aid, bike spares, water, snacks and the like! Liz and Bobbie are both members of Soroptimist International in Bournemouth and also Trustees of Cementing Futures, one of the registered charities being supported. The other charity is the British Heart Foundation
Stephney and Jono are also being assisted by Stephney’s husband and brother who will take charge of all the food preparation and domestics. They have a motor home and have their own overnight arrangements.
Are you able to help us by providing accommodation for Stephney, Jono, Liz and Bobbie?
Ideally they are looking for four beds on the following dates, perhaps in two twin bedrooms, where they can bath/shower and sleep, but they do not expect any meals:
Thursday 5th October – Liskeard area
Friday 6th October – Lands End/Penzance area
The team would be very grateful of any help.
To give you a little background, Stephney, who is 65, had a health scare last year and subsequently decided to get fit and lose weight – more than 5 stone in all. Her son Jono has been totally encouraging and will be the other half of the tandem.

If you are able to offer beds, please contact Bobbie White at firstname.lastname@example.org.
