If you came to our Annual Council Meeting at the Hall for Cornwall last month, no doubt you will have noticed a beautiful autumnal arrangement on the stage. What you might not know is that the arrangements used at our Council Meetings are created by members of our own Floral Art and Gardening Sub-committee. This particular one was made by the very talented Mandy Nicholson.
As well as being a member of the Floral Art and Gardening Sub-committee and a member of St Dominick WI, Mandy is also a member of the Launceston Floral Art Group (in the Devon and Cornwall Area of NAFAS, the National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies).
NAFAS Chairman Katherine Kear is running a monthly ‘Chairman’s Challenge’ competition in which members have to send in a photo of their design, this time with a theme of ‘Here Comes Autumn’. Mandy sent in a photo of her design and was delighted to find out that she won first prize in the National Chairman’s Challenge!
We are so proud of Mandy and her accomplishment! And we were very pleased to have her beautiful work grace the stage at our Annual Council Meeting this year.
