A Busy Month for Godolphin WI

Elaine Payne and Ann Dyke of Godolphin WI get into the ’60s spirit at a themed event hosted by Helston WI

The past month has been another busy one for the members of Godolphin WI.

The service at 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month took place and a wreath was laid for the first time on behalf of Godolphin WI by President Vanessa Wyles.

Three Godolphin WI members, Elaine Payne, Ann Dyke and Janet Buckley, then attended the Moonlight Walk on behalf of Children’s Hospice South West. It was held at The Lost Gardens of Heligan this year, and a 4K walk took the women through the most beautiful lighted route. They all managed to finish, and were rewarded with a delicious mug of hot mulled wine and a Cornish pasty.

Finally, Elaine and Ann also attended a ’60s night hosted by Helston WI. There was dancing, quizzing, hula hooping (Yes! Hula hooping!) and of course a raffle. Ann won a large bottle of prosecco and Elaine won an orchid and a bottle of whiskey – didn’t they do well?! Godolphin WI would like to give thanks to Helston WI for their hard work and warm welcome.

Godolphin WI members are now looking forward to their village carol service on 2 December at 6pm, where there will be minced pies and mulled wine for all to enjoy. All are welcome to join them for a sing-along.
