Penryn Flower, Produce and Craft Show was held in the Temperance Hall recently. It was well supported and enjoyed by all those who took part.
Members of Penryn WI organised the Show, produced the schedule, organised the staging and provided refreshments and support for the judges. Thanks were given to Penryn Town Council who supported the Show financially, providing printing and prizes. A special thank you was given to Penryn Mayor, Cllr Mary May, for her enthusiasm and support and for coming along to present the prizes.
Judges were Katie Bunnell (flowers, fruit and vegetables); Victor Tullin (photography); Louvain Herbert (cookery and preserves); and Helen James and Heather Knowles (craft) who were all thanked for their time, expertise and encouraging comments.
Thirty-seven entrants produced 130 entries. Mayor May presented the awards. First prize, with most points in show, went to Allison Williams with 29 points; in second place with 21 points was Margaret Whibley; and third, with 19 points, was Val Bidgood.
Penryn WI would like to thank everyone who put entries into the Show, came along to have a look and to all who supported their work in making the event a success.
