A Trip to Dartmoor

Last week, CFWI organised a trip to Dartmoor for a coach full of WI members.

The group’s first stop was the spectacular gardens at The Garden House in Buckland Monachorum. The weather wasn’t on our side, but the members still enjoyed exploring the colourful gardens at their summer peak, including the wildflower meadow, the summer garden, the cottage garden, the acer glade and the walled garden.

The cafe at the Garden House was a great place to keep out of the drizzle and enjoy a lovely lunch.

If you haven’t visited the Garden House before, I think everyone on this trip would heartily recommend it!

In the afternoon, we headed in Tavistock and the skies cleared. Some members had coffee in one of the town’s many cafes while others took part in a bit of retail therapy.

We all headed back to Cornwall, some with shopping bags, and others with plants bought at The Garden House. This was such a popular event and was oversubscribed, so we hope to make a return visit next year!
