2nd – Judith Littleford, St Mary’s Isles of Scilly WI
3rd – Jill Pentin, Falmouth WI
We would like to share with you Tamsyn Gillie’s first prize winning poem here:
Their enchanted future
Let us line the enchanted pathways
with tiny lights, strung on re-woven fisherman’s net
washed up on a shoreline with the sea glass and beach crockery
we link into windchimes to raise musical notes into clearer air
refreshed by newly sown saplings, that sway in gusts that spin
windmills for the energy, to cook the crops from local fields. We will pedal those short food miles towards a brighter future,
reflected in clearer seas restocked with avenues
of jewelled living coral swaying as hands of children marching,
making the adults take note, forcing us to tread the correct pathway
to their enchanted future.
