Bollywood in Threemilestone!

It was a full house at Chy Noweth an Conteth yesterday as WI members from all over Cornwall got together for a taste of Bollywood.

Those who came were greeted with a glass of mango lassi and were given a flowered garland to wear. After settling in at their tables, they enjoyed a sumptuous feast of a variety of curries (beef, chicken and

vegetable) served with rice, chutney, poppadums, naan bread and raita.

Just as they were too full to move, we got them dancing!

Charlotte from InspirAsian Dance was on hand to show the women some Indian dance hand movements. After they had all got the basics down, it was time to get up and do a few full dance numbers.

We all took a breather and some women were given beautiful mendhi henna tattoos.

But the group was keen to do more dancing, so they were back on their feet again, this time using colourful scarves.

We do hope all who came had a wonderful day. It was especially heartening to see so many people turn up for a Saturday event – we will definitely be planning more of them in the future so we can accommodate our growing numbers of members who work during the week.

  1. On behalf of Penpol & Point WI, we would like to thank everyone involved in organising Bollywood. The food was excellent and the entertainment was great fun.
