Boscastle WI Members Hit the Gin!

Members warmed up with a G&T before heading out to the distillery.

As part of their year-end festivities, Boscastle WI members enjoyed a tour of Tarquin’s Cornish Gin, located between Wadebridge and Padstow.

The tour was part of Tarquin’s sponsorship for Boscastle WI’s recipe book, created for sale during the first Covid-19 lock-down.

The group learned about the processes involved in making this gin, including the special botanicals that create Tarquin’s unique flavours, and they enjoyed a tasting of the various blends.

After 18 months of very intermittent and then limited opportunities to get together, the members felt they may well have looked a bit like schoolgirls being let out for a special date when they met up for our Tarquin’s tour.

The women were certainly glad to have hired the village mini bus and a driver for the occasion!

Members Enid Andrews and Sara Kirk got involved in the final hot wax seal process.

Boscastle WI’s recipe book, Eat, Drink & Be Merry .. with a Touch of Mother’s Ruin Cocktails, is packed with a wide range of recipes and the cocktail section from Tarquin’s includes 12 delicious recipes made from their gin, as well as their pastis and Twin Fin Rum. The book is available for £4.95 at the Cornish Stores in Boscastle.
