The BBC series DIY SOS: The Big Build came to Cornwall in February and the WI was on hand!
The programme, hosted by Nick Knowles, enlists the help of local tradesmen, suppliers and the larger community to help a local family rebuild their home.
Members of Carbis Bay WI volunteered to provide cakes twice daily to the tea tent on site. Wendy Grove organised the rota, and seven members worked a shift in the tent, making hot drinks for the volunteer workers involved in this community project.
Wendy says, “It was a wonderful experience to be part of such a worthwhile local project.”
