CFWI lays a wreath at the Remembrance Service in Truro

On Sunday 10 November in Truro, a military parade and bands, a civic procession and local communities, together with members of the public, took part in an Act of Remembrance at the War Memorial in Boscawen Street. At 11am a two minute silence marked the ending of World War 1 in 1918, and was led by the Truro Branch of the Royal British Legion. This was followed by a Service of Remembrance at Truro Cathedral, during which thousands of poppies floated down over the Drumhead Altar.

CFWI was one of many organisations, community groups and individuals of all ages who laid a wreath of poppies at the foot of the memorial, in memory of men and women who have given their lives in the service of our country.
