It was a beautifully cheerful and seasonal occasion at Chy Noweth on Friday 12 December. After some warming mulled apple juice and the obligatory mince pies, twenty-five WI members got to work creating stunning Christmas wreaths under the expert tutelage of Flowers and Gardens Sub-Committee member Ali Menary. Everyone was in the spirit of the season – many of the women wore Christmas jumpers, and there was even a Santa hat! A warming lunch of homemade soup and cake was followed by more festive creativity in the afternoon, when all the members made gorgeous swags of evergreen. They all went home with arms full of lovely pieces to adorn their front doors, and hearts full of WI Christmas cheer.
