Those of you who didn’t make it out to yesterday’s Cornish Winter Fair, should definitely make plans to attend next year! It’s a fantastic day out with food and drink stalls, gifts, crafts, livestock competitions and, of course, our own WI competition entries.
Federation Chair Helen Kestle, along with Vice-Chair Pam Selley and Trustees Liz Baker and Margaret Johnson were on hand to speak to members and to promote the WI to prospective members. They all thoroughly enjoyed themselves, did a bit of Christmas shopping and, we’ve heard, sampled some of the many liqueurs, gins and rums on sale!
This year we had six entries in the Collaborative Competition, with a theme of ‘Harvest Home’. All the entries were impressive, but the overall winner was Trevone WI.

We know some WIs and WI members entered for the first time, so we hope this means they’ll have been encouraged to enter next June’s Royal Cornwall Show too. Working together to create a competition entry is great fun and gives members a chance to be creative and show off their skills.
