Craftivism is a mixture of crafting and activism, and doing it with friends and like-minded people is enormous fun.
On 12 June, Cornwall Climate Ambassadors joined forces with other members of the Cornwall Climate Action Network to organise a craftivism workshop in Redruth. This was a hybrid event, with craftivists joining in person and via Zoom from across Cornwall. The plan was to make gifts for all the electoral candidates across Cornwall, asking them to put climate action front and centre of their campaign, and hopefully to pledge their support for the Climate and Nature Bill.
The group is still making gifts and contacting candidates, either in person or by dropping gifts with an accompanying personalised letter into a constituency office. If you would like to join the effort, contact Pippa Stilwell on cfwiclimate@gmail.com.
