St Neot WI members were clapping their hands this week following their amazing results at the Annual WI Village Show.
The show is held each year and this year was co-ordinated by WI member Lydia Saunders and her team.
There were over 600 entries to a variety of sections in the Show and they were judged by eight professional judges covering the various sections, which consisted of vegetable, flower, floral art, craft, cookery, preserves, photography and youth classes.
Out of the 22 Cups available to win, 14 were won by WI members as follows:
- Flower section cup awarded to the competitor gaining most points in the 18 flower classes – Diana Smith
- Rose Bowl Cup awarded for the best single rose or three roses – Diana Smith
- Fuchsia Cup awarded for the best fuchsia in class – Liz Neal
- St Neot WI Cup awarded to the WI member gaining most points in the show – Diana Smith
- Floral Art Cup awarded for the best exhibit in the Floral Art Novice Class – Diana Smith
- Craft Cup awarded for the best exhibit in the craft classes – Nicole Doidge
- Cookery Trophy for the best exhibit in the cookery classes – Jenny Robinson
- Cookery Preserves Cup awarded for the most points in the preserves classes – Karen Bunt
- Photography Cup awarded for the best exhibit in the photography section – Jenny Gander
- Sunflower Cup awarded to the WI member with the tallest sunflower – Janina Waterman
- Flower, Fruit and Vegetable Cup awarded for the most outstanding exhibit in these classes – Bridget King
- Vegetable Cup awarded for the best exhibit in the vegetable section – Diana Smith
- Cup awarded to the adult competitor gaining the most points overall in the show – Diana Smith
Many other members received 1st, 2nd or 3rd in class certificates.
