New Floristry Workshops in Mawnan

To kick off its autumn programme, Mawnan WI has started a flower arranging group which will meet on the first Monday of the month in Mawnan Memorial Hall. Member Sue Hewitt led a floristry workshop at the Get Creative Day earlier in the year which was very popular, and everyone was thrilled when she agreed to lead regular classes. The 10 women attending brought along roses and greenery to make a linear arrangement which was demonstrated by Sue before they were let loose to create their own interpretations under her guidance. Two hours after starting, the proud fledgling florists could be seen walking through the village carefully carrying home their “masterpieces”.
