As you may know, in addition to awarding the Royal Cornwall Show Cup each year at the Show, we also conduct a Public Vote!
This year we had record numbers of votes and the winning WI was Lanivet! Well done on a beautiful competition entry from one of our newest WIs!
Second in the public vote was Bude WI, followed by Ladock WI.
Representatives from Lanivet WI will be presented with the June Smyth Cup at the Annual Council Meeting at the Hall for Cornwall on 23 October.
Hello, these were all very deserving of the public vote.
Can I ask for a bit of help with last year’s public vote.
Let me explain. I joined the Betjeman Belles last year and for the first time myself and a few others submitted an entry at the Royal Cornwall Show and we did reasonably well for a first time.
However what I wasn’t made aware of last year is that there is always a public vote.
So I was very surprised the other day when our Secretary just happened to mention that we did well with the public vote last year, that was the first i had of it.
If that is the case can you confirm this, thank you.
