As part of the NFWI’s ‘Show the Love’ campaign, WIs across the country have been stitching, knitting, painting and baking green hearts to show the love for all they want to protect from climate change. Cornwall WIs have certainly stepped up to the plate!

This year, following the landmark climate agreement in Paris, we are aiming for a big impact on this important issue. WI members are leading the way, hosting green heart crafting sessions across the country, inviting politicians, the press, and local decision-makers to galvanise their communities into action.

Mawnan WI held a green heart workshop with their local Brownies. Today they all hung their green hearts on a tree in the centre of the village and then took heart-shaped biscuits to share with members of the community who have lunch in the Memorial Hall.

A special mention goes to Paula Rosewall of St Just in Roseland WI. Paula decorated this spectacular cake for her WI’s 69th birthday, which drew attention to climate change and was inspired by the cover of the February issue of WI Life. The cake was even featured on WI Life‘s Twitter today!
