St Neot WI were host this month to the first group meeting held with Pensilva and Liskeard.
The aim of the evening was as much laughter as possible and this was certainly achieved.
The time together opened with each of the three Presidents, Janina, Verna and Ros sharing about their own WI. We then had an ice breaker which consisted of each table picking one person in their group to interview. They were given 2 minutes to find out as much information about the person as possible. One of the table then had to introduce the person interviewed and tell everyone present about them. What a fascinating time it proved to be.
The main task of the evening was to test our artistic skills! Each table was given a picture of one of the top 20 paintings in the world. Everyone at that table, then had to create their own version of the painting. Paints, pens, pastels and much more were provided along with paper.
The hysterical laughter then began and carried on for half an hour after which time, each table picked the one they felt was the best in their group to represent them and this was entered into a final competition.
Each of the paintings were placed for all to see and were voted for by all the members placing coins in a pot next to the painting they liked best. The coins given will then be given to ACWW- Associated Country Women of the World . The winner was the member with the highest amount of money raised.
This was St Neot member Sandra Fairhall for her re-creation of the Vincent Van Gough painting called “Portrait Without Beard”
We all then enjoyed a social time with Cheese & Wine and everyone agreed it had been a very successful evening.
