Over 40 WI members enjoyed an insight into the rich history of Saltash and its prominent citizens on a visit in late September.
This was beautifully encapsulated by the outstanding embroidery chronicling Saltash’s history since pre-Norman Conquest (Trematon Castle) on view in the Baptist Church.
A delicious lunch was provided by Trematon WI which was followed by visits to Saltash Heritage Museum, Elliott’s Store and Mary Newman’s Cottage. The Blue Plaque Trail provided members on the longer walk with a snapshot of the lives and places of those prominent citizens. All bringing the morning’s talks to life and a satisfactory conclusion to the day.
