Take Part in the 16 Days of Activism to End Gender-Based Violence
(25 November to 10 December)
25 November marks the beginning of the 16 Days of Activism to end gender-based violence. We thank all our WIs who take part each year by generously donating goods to their local women’s refuges, holding candlelight vigils, raising money for their local women’s refuges and holding virtual discussions to learn more about the issue.
It’s not too late to get involved. You can get in touch with your local refuge, hold a candlelight vigil and watch the webinar and PowerPoint presentations at your next WI meeting.
Keep an eye on social media during the 16 Days to find out other ways to get involved. If you’re in the Penzance area, there is a ‘Take Back the Night’ march and vigil planned for Friday 25 November, the first day of the 16 Days of Activism. CFWI is very proud to be involved in this event. Please meet in the Wherrytown Carpark at 5.15pm, and dress warmly! In addition, there are other events planned for the 16 Days in and around Penzance, so do check the Facebook page for more details.
If you’ve taken part in any activity this year for the 16 Days, the NFWI Public Affairs team would love to hear from you. Please email your story and photographs to pa@NFWI.org.uk
