Climate change can feel like a problem that is so much bigger than us and too big to fix. But there are steps we can all make to take control and create better lives for ourselves and future generations. Some of the things we can do to reduce our carbon footprint are small and easy to do, others are more complicated and take more effort. If we all make low carbon choices to how we live – together, we can make a BIG impact for Cornwall and our planet.
Cornwall Council wants to hear from as many people as possible about what they are already doing and will commit to do, to reduce their carbon impact and help Cornwall to become carbon neutral (Net Zero Carbon). They plan to gather everyone’s climate commitments to develop a Cornwall Climate Commitment campaign, so we can all help each other to change ‘My world for Our planet’.
One of the Climate Commitment trees will be at Heartlands South West Climate Change Centre during half term, so you can add your commitment to help reduce your carbon impact. A climate commitment tree will also be at the Big Green Fair at Truro Cathedral on Saturday 19 March – so come along and talk about your Climate Commitments.
Another way to let us know your climate commitments, is to complete the short form on the Council’s Carbon Neutral Cornwall Hive.
