WORKSHOP INVITATION – PENLEE HOUSE GALLERY & MUSEUM

Calling all WIs in Cornwall – we have received an exciting invitation from Penlee House Gallery &Museum in Penzance, home to the wonderful collection of Newlyn School paintings with which many of us are familiar. Zoe Burkett, Learning Officer at Penlee House, writes:-

We’d like to invite you to take part in a series of four workshops exploring the collections at Penlee House and having a go at getting creative yourself.

During the workshops we will:

1. explore depictions of the local area in the collections at Penlee House,
2. talk together about how these places might be impacted by climate change,
3. produce creative responses to the artworks on climate themes.

Artworks chosen from the collection and work created by the group will be displayed in an exhibition at Penlee House, The Shape of Things: Our Place in a Changing Climate, from 5 February to 26 April 2025.  You are welcome to attend all four workshops, but if you can only come to two, it would be best to come to just the first two or just the second two.

Workshops are free.  All sessions will be 1.30pm-4.00pm at Penlee Coach House, Penlee Park, Penzance.  Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis. To book a place, contact Zoe Burkett  zburkett@penleehouse.org.uk or phone the Gallery on 01736 363625
