COP26 President Alok Sharma
WI Climate Ambassadors from the St Ives constituency have been hosting monthly webinars jointly with MP Derek Thomas for well over a year, and have had some very good speakers discussing climate-related issues.
On 9 March at 6pm the guest speaker will be Alok Sharma, President of COP26, and members will have the opportunity to ask questions. Alok Sharma is a Cabinet minister, chair of the Climate Action Implementation Committee, and is President of COP26, the United Nations Climate Change conference. He led the government’s diplomatic efforts in the conference which led to the world’s commitment to doubling adaptation finance and requesting countries to present more ambitious climate pledges next year.
