Sixty-five members (a full house!) at Chy Noweth were lucky enough to hear from Mary Queen of Scots herself on Wednesday!
Historian and actress Lesley Smith had the audience completely spellbound as she recounted the dramatic and tragic events from the life of Mary Queen of Scots. Wearing a beautiful hand-embroidered period costume and staying in character throughout, Lesley took our members on an informative and entertaining journey through history.
Lesley and her husband, Gareth Williams (also a historian) are the lessees and curators of Tutbury Castle in Staffordshire.
Judging from the outpouring of complimentary emails from WI members, everyone thoroughly enjoyed Lesley’s performance!
