You may have thought that you’ve missed the deadline and have neglected to book your ticket for this year’s Annual Council Meeting, but don’t worry! There’s still time!
Tickets are still available for this wonderful annual event.
The Annual Council Meeting will be held at the Hall for Cornwall in Truro on Monday 2 October, from 11am until 4pm.
You’ll hear from two amazing guest speakers – Colonel Edward Bolitho, Lord Lieutenant of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly; and actress and historian Lesley Smith.
The Lord Lieutenant will talk a bit about his role in the county, and may also have some inside scoop for us about King Charles III’s coronation!
Those of you who heard Lesley Smith speak to us in her role as Mary Queen of Scots will know what a treat we are all in for in the afternoon, when she takes to the stage as Elizabeth I. Lesley is curator of Tutbury Castle in Staffordshire, and performs around the UK as a variety of historic characters. She will perform for us in a full, authentic costume and will transport us all back to the days of Elizabeth I.
If that’s not enough, why not join us and make a day of it in Truro? There will be plenty of time during the lunch break for you to meet up with WI friends, eat well and do some shopping.
