Beware the Beast from the East!

Just a quick message to say that we hope all our WI members throughout Cornwall are safe and warm this week.

The Met Office says snow is set to hit parts of Cornwall from the early hours of Wednesday morning, with the Lizard already rather white. Snow is later expected to start falling in Penzance, with Truro and St Austell to follow. Moving east, snow is expected in Bodmin from around later in the day.

Highways England is urging all drivers to take care. ““Drivers should plan their journeys, monitor weather reports and pack a snow kit of blankets, food, water and a shovel if they really need to travel. You should avoid driving during heavy snow if at all possible.”

Our advice is, unless you absolutely have to go somewhere, stay put if you don’t feel safe on the roads.

Keep warm, everyone!
