35 of our members have just returned from a 6 day tour of Holland. Our first stop was Ghent in Belgium, a beautiful city centre with stunning architecture and canals. From our base in Made, we spent a whole day at Keukenhof, where the floral displays were absolutely breathtaking. Who knew there were so many varieties and colours of tulips? The wonderful Bloemencorso flower parade had the most impressive floral designs accompanied by joyful music.
We wandered the medieval streets of ‘s-Hertogenbosch and visited Kamp Vught, the only SS concentration camp outside Nazi Germany during the 2nd World War, an incredibly moving place.
We admired the beautiful UNESCO World Heritage site at Kinderdijk, enjoying a cruise along the picturesque waterways, with a fascinating visit inside one of the unique windmills and a visit to Breda.
Some wonderful friendships were formed with lots of fun and laughter. The Trustees of CFWI would like to express their thanks to the members who supported this event. Watch this space for the next holiday!
