On Saturday 15 February, WI Climate Ambassadors teamed up once again with RSPB to take part in the Climate Coalition Show the Love event.
They hosted a climate-themed coffee morning, for which the Godolphin Arms Hotel in Marazion very kindly provided the venue. In spite of the ravages of Storm Dennis, over 100 people, including local campaign groups, turned up to share information and delicious WI cakes.

You can see the stormy seas in the background of the photograph of Climate Ambassador Julia Havard, so the planned beach clean had to be cancelled. Still, everyone enjoyed hearing the speakers, who included Dr Dave Watkins from Cornwall Council talking about the Shoreline Management Strategy, and Derek Thomas MP on the topic of the new Environment, Agriculture and Fisheries bills currently going through Parliament.
Look out for more WI climate events over the summer and autumn in the run-up to the hugely important Climate Conference, COP26, to be hosted by the UK in November.
