The Cornwall & Isles of Scilly Local Nature Partnership (LNP) has launched a ‘Pledge for Nature’ campaign, ahead of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly’s first ever Ecological Emergency Summit on 24 March.
It follows on from the declaration of an ecological emergency by the LNP and Cornwall Council late last year, in recognition of the strong evidence of decline. The pledges and Summit show will showcase the local determination to reverse that decline, and comes ahead of a major global Summit on Biodiversity (COP15) taking place later this year.
The LNP is inviting individuals, groups, businesses and organisations to make their own individual pledge for nature. Pledges are welcomed from everyone – families, businesses, clubs and associations, public bodies and other organisations – on anything from planting a tree in your garden, to volunteering with local wildlife charities, or donating to a conservation project.
