Crantock WI’s poppy display continues to grow! This year member Salli Blackford organised members to create wartime pigeons to parachute down onto the display. This was how they were dropped behind enemy lines so that messages could be secretly sent home. Each pigeon on the display has a name and joins the horse and foal. This year, the focus is on the children who love to see the display but Crantock WI members hope they will also take away the more serious message that we should never forget.
