It’s been another busy month for the women of Godolphin WI. First, there was the walk organised by member Joyce Dallas at Trelissick, which had previously been cancelled because of bad weather. It was a beautiful walk and the sun was shining. The group then had a day out at Roskorwell Cornish Lavender Farm. Rows of gorgeous smelling beautiful purple plants covered the fields – it was a sight to behold.
For their monthly meeting, the members had an evening at Country Skittles. They report it was an absolute corker of an evening! They took up three lanes with five women to each team. There was a lot of hilarity as the balls were rolled – the majority of them ending in the gutter – resulting in plenty of low scores and laughter. The bowlers all then enjoyed a lovely meal at this hidden gem on their doorstep. The friendly staff looked after them well.
Lastly, a few of the Godolphin members went on a nature ramble organised by CFWI’s Arts and Leisure Sub-Committee. They met up at Bissoe Valley Nature Reserve for a spot of lunch first. David Chapman, the wildlife photographer, took the group on the ramble. With his amazing knowledge of wildlife, insects and fauna, he pointed out butterflies, damsel flies, dragonflies and many other things which otherwise would have gone unnoticed. One Godolphin WI member said, “The world around us is full of everyday creatures and plants we take for granted!”
