Forest for Cornwall is currently engaged in aiding communities across Cornwall to tackle the effects of climate change by creating green spaces. They recently donated free trees to WIs and Illogan WI took up the offer and planted a silver birch in Illogan Park.
The first scheduled planting date had to be cancelled due to the snow! A week later the weather conditions were still far from ideal – however the women got stuck in and, in the wind and rain, completed the task.
It is a small but still important part of the effort being made to reduce carbon emissions.
