For many years Mawnan WI has supported the fundraising activities of the Friends of Falmouth Hospital. For their Easter Coffee Morning, members baked cakes and gave items for the tombola, as well as donating a splendid hamper for the raffle.
At Mawnan’s monthly meeting, the hamper was presented by Mawnan Vice-President Carolyn Brodie to Nigel Druce, Chair of the Friends of Falmouth Hospital. Whilst thanking the ladies for their generosity, he explained that the Friends’ fundraising over the last four years had been for refurbishing an infusion room so that patients could receive the treatment they required closer to home. Work is now in progress and the unit should be open soon.
