There was a real sense of Christmas coming at the annual Mawnan WI Christmas Gift Fair on Saturday, 25th November.
The Memorial Hall was fully decorated with garlands and a Christmas tree, and stall holders had dressed their tables with lights and holly. There were many carefully crafted and original items for sale made by local artisans, some of whom have returned every year for this event. Silver jewellery was particularly popular and the WI’s own stalls selling jams, pickles and mincemeat and, of course, the homemade cakes were very successful.
Twenty-four members of Mawnan WI were involved on the day serving refreshments and selling goods, along with some who had baked or made soups and preserves and others who came to purchase gifts for their friends and family. Mawnan WI President Sally Annan thanked everyone who supported the event in any way.
