Fran Michael, President of Mermaids: Mylor and Flushing WI, took on a personal challenge last month to raise money for Cancer Research UK. This was in memory of her sister who died from cancer last year. The intrepid Fran decided to brave all weathers during the month of February and walked 115 miles, mainly local, being joined by WI members when possible. She set herself an initial target of £150 but to date has raised £1,142 plus £182.50 in Gift Aid.
