Perranarworthal WI’s Spring Fayre last Saturday was a very successful event, thanks to the support of so many people who donated items, gave generous raffle prizes or came along to enjoy a coffee or tea and then purchased cakes and various other items from the stalls.
After expenses, the WI raised an amazing £1717 for their chosen charities – Penhaligon’s Friends and Cornwall Hospice Care.
The WI Committee worked hard to make this happen in a safe environment in spite of an increase in Covid numbers, and so they decided not to advertise on local radio stations as they had done previously. Nevertheless, adding together the profit from their fundraising Coffee and Cake Morning last November with the profit from the Spring Fayre, each charity will receive £1200.
At Perranarworthal’s May meeting, they will be welcoming representatives of Penhaligon’s Friends and Cornwall Hospice Care to receive the cheques.
