The women of Porthleven WI were captivated at their latest meeting, listening to Susan Symons. She regaled them with tales of the lives and loves of the Wittelsbach Royal family and showed her slides of their castles and palaces in Bavaria.
This was followed by the competition for an unusual coin which was won by Jo Wall. Flower of the month was brought by Judith Flemons. Tea and cakes were served by Tracy Richardson and Marie Magor. Recipe of the month was for saffron buns.
Details were given out of the new gardening and walking clubs and exciting plans for a girl’s night out in August. The June lunch will be held at the Harbour Hotel on Wednesday 26th June at 12:30 pm.
Next month’s meeting will be held on Wednesday 10th July at the Public Hall. The subject will be beekeeping and the competition will be for an unusual object beginning with B.
