The Museum of Cornish Life in Helston is inviting knitters and crocheters across Cornwall to recreate and donate hats using knitting patterns of yesteryear, from their wonderful archive. Hats will be for sale from the Museum shop from 1 December.
There will be a prize for most hats knitted by a community group and the Museum hopes our WI members will give it their best! Cornwall branches of the Young Farmers and Rotary are contributing – so we will have stiff competition!
The aim of the project is primarily to facilitate community activity – particularly for clubs and organisations that are not able to connect or participate in communal activities in their usual ways.
