We have just received notice from NFWI with details of the WI subscription for 2025-26.
The increase is £3 for a total of £51 per year. Please note that nearly 50% of the subscription stays with the local WI, with the remainder shared between Federations and NFWI. We feel this is excellent value and trust that all our WIs are providing good value for money to their members.
NFWI Honorary Treasurer Hilary Haworth writes:
Based on the various economic challenges all our charities are facing, and the less-than inflationary increases to membership fees in recent years we must increase membership fees for the coming membership year.
I wish to take this opportunity to thank you for your hard work, your dedication, and your ongoing support of the WI.
The total subscription will increase by £3, making the full subscription £51. The breakdown among the three levels of the WI is as follows:
Total 2025/2026 Subscription | WI Share | Federation Share | NFWI Share |
---|---|---|---|
£51 | £25.10 | £12.05 | £13.85 |
New members joining the WI from April 2023 for the first time, or who have not been members of any WI in the past year, will pay a pro-rata subscription depending on the quarter in which they join. The rate per quarter and the distribution are shown in the following table:
Subscription Flexibility
Don’t forget that individual WIs can apply the flexibility policy to their 2025/26 subscription. This means you can charge the full amount of the WI portion of the subscription, reduce your portion of the subscription or waive the WI portion of the subscription entirely. You must carefully review your WI budget and ensure there are sufficient funds for you to use the flexibility policy.
Dual Membership
Dual members will pay the WI portion only to their second WI. If the WI is not utilising the flexibility policy, this will be £25.10. There is no pro-rata rate for dual membership, and the set fee will remain payable at any time during the year.
If you or your WI Treasurer have any questions about the subscription for the coming year or how to apply the pro-rata subscriptions, please don’t hesitate to ask. You can contact the NFWI Finance Team on fd@nfwi.org.uk, or get in touch with your WI Adviser or the CFWI Federation Office on reception@cornwallwi.org.uk or 01872 272843.
