International Women’s Day is a global holiday celebrated annually on 8 March to commemorate the cultural, political and socioeconomic achievements of women. In Cornwall, we are going to mark the 2024 International Women’s Day with an afternoon tea at the Penventon Park Hotel in Redruth.
You’ll be served a scrumptious selection of finger sandwiches, fresh-from-the-oven scones and plenty of other tasty temptations. If you were lucky enough to have joined us for this event in 2023, you’ll know what a wonderful spread the Penventon puts on!
After the tea, we’ll welcome our guest speaker Kathryn Billing, Cornwall’s Chief Fire Officer. Kathryn will talk to us about her role, the challenges of being a woman in such a high-profile position and the importance of inclusion.
